Established

Act - April 1, 1820; May 15, 1821 Marysville selected as county seat.

Named For

Union County was formed by the joining of acreage from Delaware, Franklin, Madison, and Logan Counties with part of the old Indian Territory. The union of this territory gave our county its name.

Geography

Union County encompasses 434 square miles located in the west central portion of Ohio, contiguous to Franklin County and the City of Columbus. The elevation is 1,022 feet above sea level.
