The Marysville Uptown Renewal Team (URT) was formed in 2004 to help foster business development, promote the Uptown, and preserve its historic character. Under the group's direction, the Uptown hosts a series of annual events, named Friday Nights Uptown.

In addition to the URT events, Union County also has a Farmer's Market that sells fresh produce, flowers and homemade goods.

In conjuction, a community festival will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2009 with cooking demonstrations, heritage crafts, live music and activities for kids, including a special visit from favorite cartoon characters!
